Day Camp times: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday
(7:30 am drop-off available)
PSA Leisure Services of Camden Community Recreation Center invites 5 – 12 year olds to enjoy a fun-filled ‘SURVIVOR’ themed summer day camp. The indoor and outdoor challenges are suitable for all ages. Camp costs are $160 per session for EVERYTHING (price ALSO INCLUDES field trips, pizza & movie). Please note that lunch is not included.

*Note – Day Campers will need to bring their own lunch. Recommend campers bring in their back pack, sunscreen, hat, bug spray, beach towel, water, snacks, swimsuit and a change of clothing. A $20.00 non-refundable registration fee is required.

Camp Director (s)
Tom and Julie Monahan own Up The Creek Xpeditions, a kayak specialty store and outfitter’s business, located in St. Marys historic district.
Throughout the year, Up The Creek handles team building programs, youth leadership summer camps, kayak, canoe and camping excursions, including trips to Cumberland Island National Seashore and Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge.
Julie Monahan – Camp Director
Julie is an accomplished Human Resource professional and Corporate Training Manager 20 years of diversified experience including manufacturing, distribution and government. She has designed and facilitated workshops for executives, managers and professionals in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Julie is a certified Leadership instructor. She is also a National Member of the Society of Human Resource Management.
Julie graduated from Troy State University, Alabama and is a ten year veteran of the United States Air Force.
Julie developed and organizes Camp Survivor’s activities and schedule.
Tom Monahan – Water Program Director
Tom is an accomplished business owner with 20 years experience in the banking and finance area. He is an avid outdoor enthusiast who has guided day and overnight trips for four years throughout the Southeast. In addition, Tom instructs kayaking classes.
His business experience includes large corporations, government and private companies. Tom has held management positions and facilitated large groups both in business and in kayak functions.
He graduated from the University of Notre Dame, where he played varsity football, and holds an MBA from the University of Southern California. He has served on many boards and organizations, and remains active in Rotary and the St. Marys Downtown Development Authority.
